Join ArtReview and Ursula magazine for ‘Off the Record,’ a series of informal talks in Wine Bar at the Farm Shop Mayfair, in partnership with Berry Bros. & Rudd.

Held monthly, these intimate and relaxed conversations bring together artists, thinkers and creatives to give an insight into their inspirations, processes and evolution of ideas. The series is a celebration of traditional conviviality, designed to be experienced live in a welcoming wine bar setting.

This month’s session will feature a conversation with Jayden Ali, architect, artist and Founding Director of JA Projects, and Simone Brewster, artist, designer and educator. Bringing together perspectives from architecture, design and contemporary culture, the discussion will explore how creative practice shapes the way we experience cities, public space and the world around us.

Ali’s work spans civic and cultural projects, from redesigning London’s iconic Piccadilly Circus and the 2026 ‘Why We Make Galleries,’ at V&A East Museum in London, to co-curating the British Pavilion at the 2023 Venice Biennale. Brewster’s multidisciplinary practice spans furniture, sculpture and public architecture, and she is currently the subject of the Platform exhibition at the Design Museum in London, UK.

About Simone Brewster

Simone Brewster is a London-based artist whose work explores the intersections of contemporary art, architecture and cultural memory. Working across sculpture, painting, furniture and installation, she creates what she describes as ‘intimate architectures’—objects and environments that examine how identity, belonging and collective memory are embodied through material form.

Originally trained in architecture at the Bartlett School of Architecture, UCL, before completing an MA in Design Products at the Royal College of Art, Brewster brings a distinctive spatial sensibility to her practice. Her work draws on histories of migration, Black diasporic experience, vernacular architecture and decorative traditions, exploring the emotional and cultural lives of objects.

In 2026, Brewster is headling Platform at the Design Museum in London, UK. Her work is held in the permanent collections of the Victoria & Albert Museum, London Museum, Walker Art Gallery and the Smithsonian Institution (NMAAHC).
