Nicole Eisenman creates representations of contemporary life that is critical, irreverent and filled with humor. 'Just do it. (Sarah Nicole)' presents the viewer with a portrait of a nude figure, painted in red and green, tending to her fingernails. The subject, writer Sarah Nicole Prickett, resides in a state of introspection reminiscent of figures seen in classical painting though the body is rendered in gestures with cartoon-like anatomy. The subject’s quiet focus on the task ‘at hand' results in the mid-air flinging of nail-clippings, crescent-shaped like the Nike ‘swoosh.’
